Board of Director & Company Founder
Frank established the company in 1985 and as a Board of Director, he focuses his attention on long-range strategic issues, provides due diligence for timely attention to core issues and ensures financial stability. With over 30 years of experience in the electrical construction and engineering business, he provides guidance, mentorship, knowledge and direction for the company.
Frank received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Royal Roads University with a Specialty in Executive Leadership. He also has a Certificate in Project Management from Royal Roads University, a Certificate of Apprenticeship in Electrical Work and a Certificate of Qualification as Electrical Contractor, Class “A”.
Chairman of the Board & Company Founder
Joining his brother, Frank Crucil, over 30 years ago, Mike has helped establish what FMI is today. He provides leadership and guidance for the FMI management team. He oversees the corporate business model, upper management, key business strategies and initiatives for shaping the future of the business.
Mike holds a Certificate of Apprenticeship in Electrical Work and a Certificate of Qualification as Electrician. He serves on the Executive Board of Directors of the Electrical Contractors Association of BC and as Chair of the Vancouver Island University Professional Advisory Committee.
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Don is responsible for directing and providing leadership for our company’s growth; ensuring that the company continues to develop and sustain superior performance, a dynamic safety culture, quality initiatives and solid integrity. Don oversees the company’s day-to-day operating activities that include revenue and sales growth, cost and margin control with monthly, quarterly and annual financial goal management.
Don received his Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering in 1994 at the University of Alberta. He also completed his Construction Industry Institute Project Management: Planning & Design and Project Construction & Start up in 2003 at the University of Texas at Austin.
Chief Operations Officer
Shawn oversees all of FMI's activities, reviews of day-to-day operations and ensures program quality, safety and organizational stability through development and implementation of standards, controls, systems and procedures. Shawn is responsible for the daily operations of all projects and tactical activities according to policy, procedures and contractual requirements. With over 15 years of experience, he ensures project site activities are safe and productive and that operations maintain efficiency to deliver a quality product to the client.
As a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician, Shawn mentors/coordinates Site Supervisors on project requirements, provides technical support and monitors each project schedule from kick-off through to completion. He manages fleet and equipment for each project ensuring the timely transportation of materials and supplies. Shawn received his Supervision Communication Certifciation and completed the Construction Association of BC's Supervisors Course.
Director of Finance
Alissa supervises financial matters for the FMI Group and ensures adequate controls are maintained. She assists on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, cost control and reduction strategies, as well as forecasting and directing company operations to meet budget and financial goals while planning short term and long term budget allocations to develop and support strategic business objectives. She manages Receivables, Payables, and Payroll while providing operational and programmatic support to the FMI group of companies.
Alissa has spent time in estimating, proposal development, and project coordination at FMI while completing her Bachelor of Business Administration at Vancouver Island University in 2011. Realising her interest in the financial operations throughout her business degree, she began the Certified Management Accountant program in 2012, and graduated in June 2015 with her CPA,CMA.
Director of Business Development & Proposal Manager
Working in Business Development and the estimating department, Stefan monitors upcoming client project requests and seeks business development opportunities. He is responsible for the direct management for estimating and proposal development. Stefan develops comprehensive Project Execution Plans, Master Schedules with cost codes and budget and ensures transition of the knowledge gained during the estimating phase is passed along to the project execution team.
As a Journeyman Electrician, Stefan has spent a few years in the field learning FMI's business from the ground up. He has worked on many FMI projects in Northern Alberta and throughout British Columbia.
Chief Financial Officer
As CFO, Daryl, together with the management team, is responsible for driving the Company’s financial performance. In this role he oversees all finance and related administrative functions. Reporting to the Board of Directors, his responsibilities also include strategic planning, risk management and corporate secretary functions.
Daryl is a BBA and MBA graduate of Wilfrid Laurier and the University of Windsor respectively. He has held senior management positions at several leading corporations including FedEx Canada, the Toronto Stock Exchange Regulation Services and Shred-it.
Human Resources Director
As the Human Resources Director, Katharine is responsible for developing and leading core human resources programs, policies, and initiatives in conjunction with the management team.
Katharine has worked as a Human Resources leader in multiple businesses across a range of industries, providing her strength in creating employee engagement programs, talent management strategies, and supporting a strong organizational culture. Katharine has numerous Human Resources certifications, as well as in Leadership and Customer Service.
Richard C. Day
Corporate Health and Safety Manager
Rick has the responsibility for communicating the vision of importance for the FMI Environmental, Health and Safety practices and policies. With over 25 years in experience in the Environment, Health and Safety business, he provides guidance, mentorship, and knowledge and assumes an active and visible role in ongoing initiatives and directions for the company.
Rick received his Masters of Adult Education (Occupational Health and Safety) St Francis Xavier University Diploma, Post Graduate Studies (Occupational Health and Safety) University of British Columbia and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bishops University Quebec. He also is a Canadian Registered Safety professional (CRSP).
Quality Assurance Manager
Russ has the responsibility for insuring compliance with all technical and quality requirements and communicating the importance of the FMI Corporate Quality Management System. With over 32 years of experience in the Quality Assurance and Management business, he provides guidance, mentorship, and knowledge to prepare, implement and maintain compliance to the Corporate Quality plan.
Russ is a dedicted Quality Professional with North American and overseas experience in welding, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and factory acceptance testing. He has a full understanding of multiple codes including ASME/CSA/National Building codes and his work history includes Power Plants, Pipelines, Oil and Gas facilities, Marine and Airport facilities.
