FMI has played a vital role in enhancing the infrastructure of key aerodromes and airports through its specialized services. At the Dease Lake Aerodrome, FMI was subcontracted by Cobalt Construction Inc. to execute the comprehensive installation and connection of the runway lighting system, airfield signs, and apron floodlight poles. This project, commissioned by the Stikine Airport Society, involved detailed tasks such as trenching, duct installation, and the installation of various types of runway lights, including edge, threshold, and end lights. FMI also supplied and installed a 4-Unit PAPI system and managed the installation and connection of a standby diesel generator, fuel tanks, and a transfer switch to ensure seamless operations.

Similarly, FMI undertook the installation of a new Simplified Short Approach Lighting System (SSALR) with Runway Alignment Indicator Lights (RAIL) at the Victoria International Airport near Sidney, BC. This project for the Victoria Airport Authority included both land and marine-based installations. FMI's work involved extensive civil works like trenching, excavation, ducting, and backfill, as well as installing dual approach threshold/end lights, SSALR approach lights, and a Steady Burn System. The marine aspect of the project required the installation of dolphin piles, SSALR tower support piles, mooring piles, barge fenders, new floats, and service platforms, as well as relocating existing floats. Additionally, FMI managed the supply, installation, and connection of cabling, connectors, isolating transformers, conduit, grounding, and other essential accessories.

Through these projects, FMI has demonstrated its capability to handle complex aerodrome and airport infrastructure enhancements, ensuring both operational efficiency and safety.
