The Grand Rapids MacKay project is the upgrading of the Birchwood Substation and the construction of the new Yeo Substation. Both substations are located near Fort McMurray and this project is part of the continuing upgrade of the electrical system in Wood Buffalo region.

Work in the Birchwood Substation includes the civil and electrical work for the installation of a new line termination structure, disconnects, CB, VTs, bus work and associated P&C cabling.

The new 230kV Yeo Substation includes a two transformers, two CBs, 3 disconnects, CVT, bus work, control building and P&C cabling.
