Strathcona and Ladore Spill gates $10.5 Million

Project Overview

Strathcona and Ladore spill gate project was a complete reconstruction and upgrade to the spill gates.

Strathcona and Ladore Dams are BC Hydro generation stations on Vancouver Island and FMI and the design build for the upgrading of the spill gates.

Work included screw stem removal and rebuilding, new motor control centers, power and control wiring, new standby generator and new control building.

The spill gates had to remain in operation so only one gate was allowed to by worked on at one time. FMI had to have a plan to have any gate being worked on to be back in service with-in 48 hours at any stage of construction.

Work started in the Spring of 2007 and was completed in the Fall of 2007
