Project Overview
The Columbia Valley Transmission Project involed one new substation (Kicking Horse) and upgrades to accommodate the new 230kV transmission lines at 3 exsisting substations, Golden, Invemere and Cranbrook.
Kicking Horse was a greenfield project with FMI responsible for all civil and electrical works.
The other three brownfield substations had new incoming 230kV termination structures with new switch gear and bus to handle the new 230kV lines. FMI complete all civile and electrical works safety in a the three live substations.
