Project Overview
Approximately 74 km south of Fort McMurray, Alberta, the existing Quigley Substation was upgraded to accommodate the additional load requirements of the area. This work consisted of the installation of steel structures, bus works, electrical equipment, cabling for P&C systems and cable trays. The expansion involved the installation of 144kV SF6/CF4 circuit breakers, 144 kV 1200A manual disconnect switches, single phase 144 kV Capacitive Voltage Transformers, single phase 144 kV Current transformers and Lightning spires.
