The Takhini Switching Substation is located approximately 30 km north of Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory. The project requirements were to re-develop the 138 KV Takhini Switching Substation to include a full Distribution Supply Station.

The work included the installation of a 15/20/25 MVA, 138KV/34.5 kV transformer with associated 34.5 kV Low Voltage (LV) bus; modifying the existing 138 kV High Voltage (HV) Radial Bus Arrangement into a Ring Bus Arrangement; modifying the existing substation Control Building to incorporate all new control panels with associated equipment; and I nstalling new or modifying existing control panels with associated equipment to provide for the electrical modifications.
